A sleeving machine is a high-speed machine designed to apply shrink-sleeve materials to a variety of bottles and containers. Shrink-sleeving machines can process up to 800 products per minute using printed heat-shrinkable sleeves to efficiently print on bottles or cans. The sleeves are thermally shrunk to adhere to the bottles or containers.
Printed shrink sleeves for decorating plastic (PET, PVC, PE) or glass bottles offer an effective medium for advertising and additional protection. The flat film is unwound, passes through a buffer stack, and is then drawn over a mandrel to form a sleeve. In the cutting unit, the sleeve is cut to size by blades. The sleeve is then pushed down over the container and shrunk to the container's contour in a heat tunnel. The sleeve machines are designed for full-body and partial labeling.
However, static electricity in such a process can cause the foil to stick to the mandrel or the sleeve to be incorrectly positioned on the container after cutting. Discharge bars or other electrostatic discharge devices are attached at the specified position to ensure proper machine operation and prevent skewed or faulty printing.
The Simco-Ion VicinION This is a discharge rod designed to neutralize electrostatically charged surfaces. It is the smallest 24V discharge rod on the market. It features an integrated high-voltage power supply, tungsten emitters, and a status LED. A 24V DC power supply is provided via an M8 connector.
The VicinION It is optimally used at a working distance of 5 to 75 mm. It is available in usable lengths of 224 mm in increments of 17.25 mm.
