The CM5 iIt is fully backward compatible with the ECM30/60 and the ECM DI30/60.
Users have access to a quick menu that allows them to configure the generator like an ECM30/60. The menu is available in English, German, French, and Italian.
The new current control allows for the setting of a constant current against a constant voltage. This ensures a significantly more stable charge and automatically compensates for contamination and emitter wear.
The enhanced current control is a revolutionary new feature. The generator monitors the current supply to the electrode. It detects when no more material needs to be charged and switches the current to a safe low level. This prevents arcing and emitter wear. When material is supplied again, the current switches back to the high level.
A serial fieldbus interface can be additionally installed, enabling the generator to communicate via bus interfaces such as Profibus and Profinet (other serial protocols available upon request). Advanced Output Control is available as an option for specific applications. This function provides output control that is proportional to an input signal. For example, the charge level can be proportional to the machine's speed.
