MEASURING THE ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE
A sensor that measures electrostatic charges on webs and can be connected to the IQ Easy platform. The IQ Easy sensor is a rod containing up to 16 sensor segments. Each segment can be strategically positioned above the web to monitor the electrostatic charge. The sensor data is communicated to the IQ Easy Manager and stored for process monitoring. For operation in dirty environments, the sensor is equipped with an air purge. By using a very small volume of low-pressure air, dirt is prevented from entering the sensor openings. Antistatic rods or charging generators in the system can react to the data received from a sensor, ensuring precise maintenance of the desired charge level through a closed-loop control system. The data received by the sensor segments is stored in the IQ Easy Manager and can also be used for quality control and process monitoring. It can be accessed from the IQ Easy Manager via USB or the standard Ethernet port.
