Transvectors: Move large volumes of air with minimal effort!
With minimal compressed air consumption as a power source, you can move large volumes of air using Vortec's transvector products. Acting as an airflow amplifier, a transvector increases airflow using an energy transfer process that induces movement in the surrounding free air. Gain ratios up to 60 times greater than the compressed air consumption allow transvectors to deliver increased airflow while dramatically reducing compressed air consumption and noise levels. Transvectors capable of achieving 4075 m³/h in ducted airflows can be used with or without ducting. A duct pressure regulator controls the transvector's output by regulating the input. Ideal for ventilation, air handling, drying, and cooling, transvectors consume no electricity, have no moving parts, and meet OSHA noise specifications.

Impulse principle in action:
The transvector uses a momentum principle to accelerate a large mass of stationary air with a thin jet of ultrasonic compressed air. As compressed air enters the transvector, it fills a chamber with only one outlet: an annular opening 0.05 mm wide. As the air flows through this opening, it accelerates to 300 m/s. A lip at the opening directs the compressed air down into the neck of the transvector, where it collides with the surrounding air, accelerating large masses of free air toward the outlet. It is a simple energy transfer process, similar to the initial shot in billiards.
A few extremely fast-moving air particles collide with stationary air particles, causing a large number of particles to move at a moderate speed. The secret of the transvector lies in its ability to maximize the speed of the compressed air it releases. Energy released by the compressed air when it collides with the still air increases by the square of its velocity.
APPLICATIONS:
- Conveying of all materials that can be moved in a blast of air: e.g. grain, plastic beads, sawdust, powder, capsules, metal shavings, paper and fabric waste, lint, dust, small parts, fabric waste, etc.
- Ventilation and extraction of welding and processing fumes, car exhaust, vapors from electrolytes and other pollutants or contaminants.
- Flushing of tanks containing explosive or toxic fumes
- Weighing and sorting of pharmaceutical products and other lightweight materials
- Surface cooling of workers, electronic controls
- Cooling of molded and cast parts
- Drying of printing inks
- Generation of air showers
