CASE STUDY: CUSTOMER SPECIFICATION\/CHALLENGE<\/strong>
A major manufacturer of automated spraying systems was struggling to protect its control panels from mist and the internal heat generated by the electronics. The filter fans used in most of the systems were unable to block the ultra-fine mist, which eventually accumulated on the electronics and caused malfunctions. While switching from filter fans to closed-loop refrigerant air conditioners did protect the manufacturer's control panels, the air conditioners eventually failed because mist (and debris) was drawn into the condenser coil, causing excessive pressure and costly compressor failures.<\/p>\n\n\n

THE SOLUTION<\/strong>
The manufacturer contacted us seeking a solution that would allow them to seal and slightly pressurize their control panel to protect the electronics from fog and internal heat. The responsible application engineer recommended a NEMA 4 Enclosure Cooling System Model 787<\/a> Vortex with pressure regulator. The field service technician for spray systems determines and sets the operating pressure of the 787 with the regulator for each individual system. Vortec 787<\/strong> It maintains the pressure inside the control panel slightly above ambient pressure and generates sufficient cooling to reduce internal and external heat loads. Installation and setup are simple, and the 787 occupies only a fraction of the control panel space used by the Freon air conditioner. Since then, the manufacturer has retrofitted all of its existing units with the 787 Vortex Case Cooler and uses it exclusively in its new control panels.<\/p>\n\n\n
